Professor Beiste was one of the kindest teachers at hogwarts. She had a way of connecting with her students. She believed that Every student had something special to offer, and that they could help the world in some way.
Today was one of her rare classes indoors and it was one of her most favorite classes for the whole year. She had finished lining boxes on the front table of her classroom when a few students began to pour in. First was two students who she knew loved her class. The ravenclaw couple of Artie and Brittany walked in holding hands and sat next to eachother in the middle of the room. Next was a student who got fantastic grades on paper, but the work with her hands was a struggle for her. Rachel pranced in with a smile pasted on her face, sitting in the very front of the class. After Rachel came JJ Harper. A quiet girl, but a great girl to be around. She had a fantastic attitude during the hands on classes. Then came in the Hufflepuff and the Ravenclaw Mike and Tina. The boy had his arm around his girlfriend as they sat down in the front. Next was the diva herself, Mercedes, who glided into the room and popped a bubblegum bubble before taking her seat. Then in came the Slytherin girl Quinn. She never seemed to have a passion for this class. She just showed up, did the work and left. In followed a group of hufflepuffs and gryffindors all together. Next was Jesse St. James who walked in with a group of Durmstrang boys, like Parker, who did each assignment with confidence. And just a second before late, as usual, Santana and Puck walked into the room and made their way straight to the back of the room.
“Hello Class.” Said Professor Beiste, smiling at the room. She took one last look at the door to see if any more students were coming. “Hmm..” she whispered to herself, “Where could Sam, Kurt and Blaine be?” deciding to continue with the lesson, she faced her class once more. “I have an exciting lesson for you today.” she said, walking over to a box and lifting up the cover. “Now, I know you all have familliars to take care of, but I have a take home assignment for you. It’s one of my most favorite assignments.” She reached into the box and pulled out a small fluffly animal, with a snout like nose and a short fat tail. What was odd about this tiny creature, was that his fur was a light pink colour. “This,” she held up the creature for the whole class to see, “Is a GrandeHult Puffer.” The small animal sniffed The air. “Whats special about these little guys is that their emotions are displayed by the colour of their fur. So, can every turn to page 114 an… Jacob!” Beiste ran to his desk, after his book attacked him and knocked him backwards in his chair. Beiste seized the book and calmed it down. “How many times do I have to tell you to stroke the spine. You’re more clumsy than a kangaroo on ice.” Everyone in the class exchanged confused glances about her metaphor.
“As I was saying, turn to page 114 and there is a graph describing the colours and emotions. What emotion is this little guy, Evan I call him, feeling?” A hand shot straight up in the air. “Yes Rachel?” Said Beiste, stroking Evans back. “Evan is excited at the moment.” “Good. 10 points to Gryffindor.” Rachel smiled triumphantly. Beiste walked over to her and set Evan on the table in front of her. “You will be paired up with someone in this room to take care of a GrandeHult Puffer for one week. Instructions on how to feed him are on pages 115-117. And if he comes back blue, as in sad, or violet, as in hungry, or even White as in sick, then you’ll have failed.” Beiste pulled a piece of paper off her desk and started to pair up parteners. “once I assign your parteners, come up, get your Puffer and sit together.”
(ooc: you can pair them up. Just make sure you name the creatures)
Graph of colours:
Light green: Excited
Blue: Sad or dissapointed
Violet: Famished
Green: Scared
Red: Angry
Yellow: Happy
White: Sick
Orange: Nervous
Pink: Relaxed
Grey: Sleeping
Black: Danger is close by. (Your GrandeHult Puffer has a sense for when great danger is around. They will most likely close into a tight ball when danger is very near.)
Ooc: you can make changes if you want. I wrote this when Sam and Kurt were, like, missing. So you can put them in the class too. :D
Tina smiled at Artie, she didn’t know how an amazing guy like him had came to love her after all she had done to him. Even after she broke his heart to date Mike he still took her back even though she didn’t deserve it. He was beyond amazing in her eyes.
Tina looked into Artie’s piercing blue eyes and squeezed his hand. “I love you, Artie.”
Artie smiled at Tina, giving her hand a squeeze back as he gazing into her lovely brown eyes. Now is the perfect time. Do it now. He thought to himself. Reaching into his pocket, he said “Tina, I love you too. So much. And I want to keep loving you forever.” Artie pulled out a little black box and set it on the table. He opened it to reveal a small white ring. “Tina, this isn’t an engagement ring. It’s a promise ring. After we graduate, it will be exchanged into an engagement ring. I promise to give you all the love and attention that you deserve if you accept this ring. I just love you so much.”
Tina nodded to the waitress in agreement as Artie ordered for them and then turned her attention back to him when the waitress scurried off. She reached over and took Artie’s hand again and traced little shapes in it with her thumb.
“I’m really glad we won the gift card, I like being here with you, Artie.”
Artie loved the feeling of having Tina’s thumb rubbing against his hand. She was so gentle. “I love being anywhere with you, Tina.” he said, smiling up at her again. He took his free hand to feel his pocket, where Tina’s surprise was. He thought of showing it to her then, but he wasn’t sure that it was the right time. He decided to wait a little longer before giving it to her.
Tina was savoring Artie’s touches tonight, he was being so gentle and focusing so much on them tonight. It’s not like he didn’t he focus on her when he was with her but tonight some how felt different to her. She smiled at him in response to his touch.
“Yeah let’s go ahead and order. I’m hungry.”
Artie gave Tina another smile. He was glad that she was happy to be with him tonight, and really liked how loving they were treating each other. Hating the fact that he had to stop looking at Tina, Artie began to gaze around the restaurant for a waitress. Once the waitress saw that he was looking at her, she quickly made her way over to their table. “Hey, what can I get you two tonight?” she asked, pulling out a notepad. “Can we get an Alfredo plate? We are planning to share it” he said, looking back at Tina.
“That sounds awesome, we would match well and don’t worry I learned my lesson about dyeing drunk. The smell of the dye can be disgusting enough but being so far gone the smell is nauseating.” Tina said grinning at Artie and taking his hand.
Artie laughed a little, remembering how much fun and work it was to turn his hair blue. He also remembered how nice it was to fall asleep and wake up next to Tina, before he threw up. “Yeah, that was a pretty gross smell.” he said, moving his finger on the edge of her hand. “So, should we order now?”
Tina laughed as Artie swung her hand, he looked so cute when he playfully teased her like this and laughed. She squeezed his hand when he laid their hands on the table.
“No, I didn’t think I had a chance but I had to try.” Tina said grinning at him. She loved to play fully teasing him right back. “But I’ll defintly do it again after Nationals if you’ll let me. How about we take it one step further though. Not just you bangs but the tips of your hair?” She knew he’d say no but she was gonna suggest it anyway.
Artie ran his free hand through his hair, licking his lips and thinking. He looked over at Tina, who looked like she was enjoying herself, both the date and their conversation. “I don’t think I could rock the whole head blue look.” Artie thought up a plan, and smiled. “How about after Nationals we both dye the tips of our hair? Except, let’s not use the dye while drunk.”
Tina watched Artie scan the menu patiently, noticing the blue in his bangs was starting to fade and smiled a bit more remembering how much he begged her not do to dye them. She knew he had to be more thrilled for them to go back to normal. She was tiny bit disappointed they weren’t as bright as before but only a tiny bit because she found him hot with or with out blue in his bangs.
“Chicken Alfredo sounds good to me and I know we both love it so it works, Artie.” Tina said giving him a smile. “By the way I am gonna need to dye these again for you? The blue is fading.” she said reaching over to play with his bangs lightly.
Artie couldn’t fight his smile when Tina started to fiddle around with his bangs. He remembered the night Tina dyed them for him at Jesse’s, and how they both were so tipsy that they could barely even make it into the bathroom. Still smiling, Artie reached up for Tina’s hand and swayed it back and forth before it reached the table again. “Do you really think I’m going to let you dye my bangs again?” he said, laughing. “I love the blue on you, though. Maybe after Nationals I’ll give it another shot.”
Tina loved being here like this with Artie, just how their hands seemed to fit together like puzzle pieces and how loving Artie was looking at her. It just confirmed that he was the guy for her, everything seemed to fit so perfectly with him. She lifted their hands to her lips and kissed his hand gently before glancing at the the menu. “Yeah, let share something. Any of the dinners look good to you, Artie?”
Artie grinned when Tina kissed his hand. It was one of those cute things that she did, that just made him feel so special. Still smiling, Artie took another glance at the menu. “Hmm… Well, I heard that the salads here aren’t very good, so maybe not that.” Artie flipped the page and saw something he thought Tina might like. “How about something… noodle-y? Like Chicken alfredo?”
ooc: Please, take all the time you need. Rp-ing is really the last thing that should be on your mind. Love you, girl!
